The brainchild of the United States-based Automotive Fleet and Leasing Association, the Fleet Consortium Network to date also comprises the Australasian Fleet Management Association, the Mexico-based Asociación Mexicana de Arrendadoras de Vehículos, and the China Road Transport Association. It is also expected that the Indian Vehicle Operating Lease Organisation will also join.
In its 40+ years since its founding, the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA) has emerged as a dynamic organization that promotes growth, expansion and professionalism within the fleet industry by providing education, research, technical standards, representation and advancement of member interests.
AFLA has brought unity to an industry so fragmented in 1969 that it had no networking forum for fleet buyers and sellers to exchange reliable industry information or education. Today AFLA brings together 400 members representing all industry segments, including: fleet managers and buyers; auto manufacturers and dealers; remarketers; fleet lease; management; maintenance and repair companies; safety, transporting, upfitting and many other specialized suppliers.
AFLA works with member companies to address key issues facing the entire industry and deliver leading-edge programs, on everything from advanced vehicle design to telematics and remarketing, that advance their skills and enhance the environment in which they sell products and services.
The Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM) is the UK's only independent ‘not for profit‘ organisation dedicated to furthering the education, recognising the achievements and advancing the profession of car fleet management.
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators. With over 4,300 members, FORS is gaining recognition as the transport industry’s go-to accreditation scheme. FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environmental protection by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance. FORS provides accreditation pathways for operators of any type, and for those organisations that award contracts and specify transport requirements.
FORS Bronze, Silver and Gold membership provides progressive accreditation enabling operators to achieve exemplary levels of best practice. FORS members stand out from the crowd, work to standards above the legal minimum and have access to a wide range of exclusive benefits that provide a real competitive advantage.
FORS has just introduced the FORS Professional, a comprehensive package of essential training for managers and drivers, delivered with cutting edge content to help operators meet the FORS Standard. FORS Professional is designed to improve knowledge and professional standards for any commercial vehicle operator, addressing in detail today’s safety and efficiency challenges.
All FORS Professional training is fully approved and meets FORS, CLOCS and TfL’s Work Related Road Risk (WRRR) requirements. FORS Professional provides JAUPT approved driver training delivered by qualified professionals.
