BT Fleet set for technology showcase at CV Show

BT Fleet set for technology showcase at CV Show

BT Fleet will be demonstrating its technology and innovation at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 25-27 April.

The provider of outsourced fleet management services will be showcasing a number of innovative solutions as part of its multimillion pound investment in system transformation. Smart phone apps, online portal enhancements and their exciting connected vehicle solution will be among the developments showcased over the three days.

The new daily vehicle check app is the first app to be launched by the company and is designed to give fleet drivers a paperless, simple and reliable means of logging their vehicle checks electronically, capturing any defects on a live basis. The app links with BT’s core fleet management system to close the loop on defect rectification. For fleet operators, the app also provides a live picture of driver and vehicle compliance.

Visitors to BT Fleet’s stand will also be able to receive live demonstrations of the company’s newly launched online booking management system and management information system.

The BT Fleet team will also be showcasing its vision of the connected vehicle, its mobile SMR capability, a recent capability extension made possible via its acquisition of SEV, and discussing the findings of the BT Fleet and AA Operational Fleet Insight report.

Henry Brace, BT Fleet managing director, said: “The CV Show is one of the most important events on the operational fleet calendar and a valuable opportunity for us to meet with customers and prospects to demonstrate and discuss all that’s new within BT Fleet. And this year, more than ever before, we have a huge amount to share!

“Our ambition is to deliver innovation through technology that helps our customers turn operational challenge into competitive advantage. Our multi-million-pound technology transformation programme has now delivered a number of products and services that are enhancing the customer experience and delivering significant efficiencies over multiple touchpoints.

There’s also been much interest in our recent acquisition of SEV and the mobile SMR capabilities this brings, while the Operational Fleet Insight report we recently partnered with the AA to deliver warrants discussion too.”

BT Fleet’s online booking management system, launched in late 2016, enables customers to manage their own maintenance bookings and manage missed appointments and draws data directly from operational systems without manual intervention.

For managers, the system provides immediate visibility, enhancing compliance and operator safety. BT Fleet’s bespoke management information system is the most sophisticated in the sector and offers customers access to more than 40 fleet management and accident management colour-coded dashboard reports, encompassing compliance, cost and performance, as well as trend analysis capabilities.

The BT Fleet and AA Operational Fleet Insight report is operationally fleet-focused and takes a detailed look at some of the most pressing issues impacting on fleets today. Topics covered include the economy and Brexit, the role of technology and telematics, manager-driver relationships and the fundamental question of safety, and the future of the industry, from fuel efficiency to automation.
