SMH makes multi-million pound investment in fleet vehicle management
SMH Fleet Solutions is to invest around £16 million in
vehicle fleet management, logistics and support services and claims it is one
of the UK’s largest financial investments in the sector.
The company is building a 40,000 sq. ft. facility on a 29-acre
green field site at Thurleigh in Bedfordshire. It is anticipated that up to 200
new jobs will be created.
SMH says the new facility is on track to become the most
advanced and modern refurbishment centre in Europe. In addition to providing
vehicle inspection, repair, logistics and refurbishment, there will be secure
storage space for some 4,500 vehicles.
SMH Fleet Solutions has been providing services to the
automotive fleet and leasing industry for more than 25 years and has five
locations strategically positioned around the UK. The company currently employs
some 300 people and has an annual turnover of £30 million
