Consultation | 06 FEBRUARY 2019

Consultation re: BIK Your view matters, so please take time to add to the consultation - Time is running out.

As many of you will be aware, the government has an open consultation (closing soon) to address BIK in light of WLTP changes.

This is a crucial consultation for our industry and the overall provision of company cars. We have already seen significant increases in BIK revenue against a reducing number of company cars and changes to the BIK tables to adjust for WLTP could further increase BIK.

We have a fantastic opportunity here to tell Government of our concerns over the direction this could take and we urge you to contribute to make our voices heard and ensure that government takes into consideration the impact on our ability to offer suitable vehicles and attractive car schemes to our employees.

There are a number of ways that you can take action:

  • Reply to the consultation direct here
  • Reply to BVRLA campaign. We are joining BVRLA campaign to provide evidence into government. A website has been created to gather views, opinions and evidence from fleets direct and from drivers here
  • Reply to ACFO direct you can simply email ACFO ( ) and we will add your views to our response to the consultation

Any fleets who are able to offer stats/facts about declining car numbers vs increasing cash numbers, or any fleets the have/are seriously considering removing car schemes (or switching to Job Needs Only) and in particular are monitoring the switch to Grey Fleet etc would be of particular help.

This is a critical turning point for our industry and what we as fleet operators are able to provide for our employees - I urge you to contribute to any way you can to ensure our voice is heard

Kind Regards,

John Pryor
