Volkswagen Emissions Recall

Volkswagen Emissions Recall

The scale of this emissions recall is without precedent. Although the news broke in the USA, this is a global problem for the Volkswagen group.  The brands known to be affected are Audi, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen cars and commercial vehicles fitted with either a 1.6 or 2.0 TDI engine prior to the current Euro6 diesel.  This issue relates to particulate emissions Nitrous Oxide(NOx) and at this time, is not thought to impact CO2.
In due course the manufacturers will be offering remedial action for the affected vehicles. According to Chief Executive Matthias Müller work will not start until January next year. Given the scale of the action this will take some time to complete. The manufacturers have issued clear communications that their vehicles are technically safe and roadworthy.

If you own your vehicles the manufacturers will come to you direct, if you lease your vehicles the manufacturers will work through your leasing company. Below are links to each of the affected brands websites to assist you in obtaining further detailed information, including the ability to check your own vehicles online in some cases.
