New fleet operations director joins the team at Fraikin
Keith Atkins has joined the Fraikin executive leadership
team in the role of fleet operations director, where his focus will be on
further improving the commercial vehicle leasing and fleet management company’s
vehicle compliance record, while ensuring the operations team continues to
exceed the company’s high customer support targets.
Mr Atkins takes extensive experience in the commercial
vehicle sector to the role, as well as technical knowledge in engineering,
marketing and sales. Based at Fraikin’s UK headquarters in Coventry, he reports
directly to chief executive Ed Cowell.
He joins Fraikin directly from Biffa, the UK’s largest
waste management company, where he worked for several years as group technical
and compliance manager.
Starting his career as an apprentice motor vehicle
engineer in the public sector, Mr Atkins progressed to become fleet engineer.
That was followed by long-term roles with premium vehicle manufacturers
Mercedes-Benz and MAN, spending time working for both in Germany. He then Atkins
returned to operations roles, taking on fleet operations manager and group
fleet engineer positions with BT Fleet, Kier Group and Eurovia.
Commenting on his new position, Mr Atkins said: “The
